Haifa: Worker Killed in Work Accident Near Atlit
SadaNews - A worker, about 35 years old, was killed this morning, Tuesday, due to being struck by a tractor while working in an open area near Atlit in the Haifa district.
The spokesperson for Magen David Adom reported that the notification came at 10:25 AM, where paramedics arrived at the scene to find the worker lifeless with a severe head injury, and he was pronounced dead on site. The tractor driver was also transferred to Carmel Hospital in mild condition.
Paramedics Tal Shustak and Omri Abu Romi mentioned that they found the driver in a state of severe panic, while the victim was lying on the ground and had succumbed to his serious injuries.
The police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident and have notified representatives from the Ministry of Economy to follow up within the framework of occupational safety.
The toll of work accident victims in the country rises to 38 since the beginning of the year.
It is noted that the number of work accident victims in the country has reached 38 fatalities since the beginning of 2025 to date.
In comparison, the number of victims was 69 in 2024, most of whom were Arab and foreign workers, whereas 83 deaths were recorded in 2023, 48 of which occurred in the construction sector, which accounts for more than half of work accident victims.
Data shows that the main causes of these accidents include falls from heights and the falling of heavy objects, emphasizing the urgent need to enhance safety measures in workplaces.
