Settlers Set Fire to Two Houses and a Mosque in the Tawana Village South of Hebron

Sada News - Last night, extremist settlers set fire to two houses and a mosque in the village of "Tawana" located in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron, which caused severe damage.

The head of the Tawana village council, Muhammad Rabai, informed the official agency that settlers from the colonial outpost "Havat Ma'on" raided the village and ignited fires in the homes of citizens Kamal Musa Rabai and Mahmoud Salman Rabai, in addition to the "Tawana" mosque, using flammable materials, which caused fires to break out across large areas of property, all under the protection and facilitation of the occupation forces.

He added that the settlers also deliberately broke and vandalized citizens' properties, including a vehicle.

In this context, the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs condemned this heinous crime in a statement, asserting that burning a house of God represents a dangerous escalation and a violation of all red lines.

The ministry's statement said: "The actions of the settler gangs burning the "Tawana" mosque are a completed act of terrorism, coming with support and a green light from the extremist occupation government, which seeks to displace our people in Masafer Yatta and turn the conflict into a religious war."

The ministry held the occupation government fully responsible for this heinous crime and its grave consequences, emphasizing that the international silence on colonial crimes fuels and encourages these assaults.

The Ministry of Awqaf also issued an urgent call to the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and international human rights institutions to intervene immediately and hold the occupation and its settlers accountable for these crimes, and to provide urgent international protection for Palestinian citizens and their Islamic and Christian sanctities, which are now under continuous threat.
