Palestine Bank Signs Partnership Agreement with Ramallah Municipality to Sponsor Its Activities in 2026
SadaNews - Palestine Bank has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Ramallah Municipality to support a number of projects and programs being implemented by the municipality during the years 2026–2027, in partnership with several private sector institutions, as part of joint efforts to serve the local community and enhance sustainable development pathways in the city.
The partnership agreement was signed at the headquarters of Ramallah Municipality, in the presence of the General Director of Palestine Bank, Mahmoud Al-Shawa, the President of Ramallah Municipality, Issa Qseis, along with representatives from several private sector institutions, as well as representatives from the economic and social activities in the city. This partnership falls within the bank's vision aimed at enhancing its developmental and community role and establishing the concept of effective partnership between the banking sector and local authorities.
According to the agreement, Palestine Bank will contribute to supporting and implementing a package of programs and activities that the municipality intends to organize in the upcoming period, particularly in the fields of health, environment, culture, and development, in addition to initiatives targeting various community groups, which will enhance the quality of life in Ramallah and solidify its position as a vibrant center for cultural and community activities.
Mahmoud Al-Shawa, General Director of Palestine Bank, expressed pride in signing the partnership agreement with Ramallah Municipality, noting that this step reflects the bank's firm commitment to its social responsibility and its desire to support initiatives that leave a positive and sustainable impact on citizens' lives, saying, "We take pride in this strategic partnership with Ramallah Municipality, which aligns with Palestine Bank's vision of supporting comprehensive development." He added that the bank views these community programs as a long-term investment in people and place, contributing to the development of the community structure, and creating a supportive environment for creativity, youth initiatives, and cultural and health activities, to achieve sustainable development.
Al-Shawa praised the efforts of Ramallah Municipality and those in charge of it in striving to develop the city and keep pace with modern developments by upgrading the quality services it provides to its citizens, aiming to reach a modern city that can meet all the necessary needs of its residents.
For his part, Issa Qseis, President of Ramallah Municipality, appreciated this partnership, expressing his gratitude for the role played by Palestine Bank in supporting municipal efforts aimed at developing the city and improving the services provided to citizens, confirming that collaboration with private sector institutions forms a fundamental pillar in implementing municipal plans and projects, especially in light of the economic challenges facing local authorities.
Qseis pointed out that the agreement will enable the municipality to expand the scope of its community programs and implement qualitative activities that respond to the needs of residents, noting that Ramallah is witnessing a growing cultural and developmental movement that necessitates the concerted efforts and integration of roles among various partners.
It is noteworthy that the partnership agreement represents a model for constructive cooperation between the banking sector and local authorities, and a practical embodiment of the concept of social responsibility, where role integration contributes to achieving a tangible developmental impact that positively reflects on citizens' lives and supports the development process in Ramallah city during the years 2026–2027.
