Holy Lands Takaful Insurance Company Compensates Farmer in Jenin After Newcastle Disease Affects Poultry Flock
SadaNews - In fulfillment of its commitments to policyholders, Holy Lands Takaful Insurance Company issued a cheque yesterday amounting to 85,000 shekels to farmer Mohammed Hosni Mohammed Abu Hananeh as compensation for the losses incurred by his poultry farm in the town of Kafardan / Jenin, due to the Newcastle disease outbreak that led to the death of a significant portion of his birds.
The cheque was handed over during a visit by a company delegation that included General Manager Dr. Ahmed Mashasheh, Agricultural Insurance Department Director Dr. Youssef Hussein, Jenin Branch Manager Mr. Nasser Hussein, and member of the Sharia Supervisory Board Dr. Fadi Abu Diak, who emphasized the company’s commitment to meet its obligations to farmers and support the agricultural sector.
This compensation represents a practical embodiment of the agricultural insurance product offered by the company, stemming from its ongoing policy since its establishment to support farmers and protect the agricultural sector from potential risks, while mitigating the impacts of damages that may befall farmers, in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the agricultural insurance documents and in compliance with Islamic Sharia laws.
The company’s General Manager, Dr. Ahmed Mashasheh, affirmed the company's commitment to support farmers and protect the agricultural sector, which is an essential part of national food security, pointing out that this compensation reflects the company’s eagerness to provide effective and sustainable insurance solutions that help farmers face risks and maintain their businesses.
For his part, farmer Mohammed Hosni Abu Hananeh expressed his gratitude to the company for its commitment to paying the compensation, adding that having insurance coverage gives the farmer peace of mind and allows him to focus on developing his farm despite challenges, reflecting the company’s genuine concern for farmers and their needs.
At the end of the visit, there was a confirmation to expand agricultural insurance to include a larger number of poultry farms in the governorate, in support of the sustainability of this vital sector and enhancing farmers’ ability to face future risks.
