Palestine Bank, "Roots", and Al-Makassed Hospital Conclude Diabetes Prevention Campaign
SadaNews - Palestine Bank, in partnership with Augusta Victoria Hospital "Al-Makassed", Roots Foundation for Health and Social Development, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and the International Diabetes Federation, concluded the national diabetes awareness campaign for 2025, which was launched under the slogan "Diabetes Journey... A Story of Awareness and Safety", on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.
The campaign aimed to enhance community awareness of the importance of preventing and early detection of diabetes, and to encourage healthy lifestyles to reduce its spread and complications.
The campaign launched by the bank with its partners included a series of awareness and media activities, including the dissemination of messages via social media platforms, broadcasting radio spots, and organizing health days in various governorates of the West Bank, particularly in Masafer Yatta, Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah, and Nablus. Medical advice was provided to limit the worsening of the disease and its complications within the Ministry of Health directorates. The campaign also included a comprehensive health program in the Gaza Strip that provided free medical examinations, distribution of healthy food meals, and provision of essential medications that patients were deprived of for long periods due to the war.
In addition to supporting the campaign, Palestine Bank provided support to the mobile clinic affiliated with Al-Makassed Hospital to visit all areas, which will continue until the end of this month, where the medical staff conducted free medical examinations to measure blood sugar levels, as well as eye and foot examinations for diabetes patients.
Palestine Bank affirmed that its support for this campaign aligns with its commitment to social responsibility, as an active banking institution that is an integral part of the national fabric, striving to contribute to achieving sustainable community and health development.
The bank clarified that investing in the health of Palestinian community members is an investment in the future and encourages giving, working, and participating in building the homeland and creating a healthier and more prosperous tomorrow.
The bank added that its support for the campaign reflects its vision of promoting the concept of sustainable development and supporting national efforts to improve public health, especially in the fields of chronic diseases that affect large segments of society. Palestine Bank indicated that it has spared no effort over the past years in supporting awareness campaigns to combat diabetes, seeking to spread healthy health culture, and raising awareness of the risks of the disease and its health, community, and economic impacts.
This accomplishment comes within the framework of the pioneering role played by the Roots Foundation as the entity responsible for managing the national diabetes program, where "Roots" continues to work on developing early detection services and comprehensive follow-up for diabetes patients in Palestine, and enhancing community awareness of prevention and treatment methods, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Al-Makassed Hospital, and in cooperation with the International Diabetes Federation.
It is worth noting that Palestine Bank continues its contributions to support health initiatives and various medical events and institutions as part of its approach to support the health sector, empowering these institutions and enhancing their capacity to play their vital role in improving health reality in Palestine and meeting community needs for comprehensive and sustainable health services.
