"Education" and "Palestinian Islamic Bank" Sign Agreement to Establish a School in Gaza Strip
SadaNews - The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, and the General Director of the Palestinian Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Saadi, signed a cooperation agreement to establish a school in the Gaza Strip.
The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Ramallah, in the presence of representatives from both sides.
This agreement comes as part of efforts to revive the educational sector in the Gaza Strip, which has sustained significant damage over the past two years, and as an initiative for recovery and the return of students to face-to-face education.
The school will accommodate approximately 1,100 students across multiple shifts and will be equipped with all necessary supplies and educational tools to provide a safe learning environment. It will be constructed from materials available in the Gaza Strip under the full supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, while the bank will fund the project.
Minister Barham stated that this agreement reflects the spirit of social and national responsibility and a strong commitment to supporting education in the Gaza Strip and enhancing the foundations of relief and recovery, noting the importance of generalizing and institutionalizing such initiatives and quality partnerships in light of current priorities and significant needs.
Barham emphasized the Ministry's commitment to providing all conditions that ensure the return of face-to-face education while continuing with virtual schools, educational points, and other educational initiatives, pointing out the success achieved by the Ministry in conducting the secondary school exams and other exceptional efforts led by it and its partners to assist and save education.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Palestinian Islamic Bank for funding this project in Gaza, hoping that this school would be the beginning of many schools aimed at ensuring the right to quality and equitable education for the children and students of Gaza.
For his part, Dr. Al-Saadi confirmed that the Palestinian Islamic Bank is always keen to contribute effectively to serving our community through its sustainable social responsibility program. The educational sector holds the highest priority in this program as it is a vital and essential sector for progress, recovery, and sustainable development, indicating the continuous directives from the Bank's Board of Directors to implement these initiatives and community partnerships.
Al-Saadi clarified that this agreement is part of a series of interventions implemented by the bank to help and support our people in the Gaza Strip, whether in the field of relief or support for other sectors, confirming that it will be followed by a number of other important interventions and contributions in the coming period.
Al-Saadi appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry to advance the educational process in the Gaza Strip and all the provinces of the homeland, emphasizing its importance in developing the educational reality and creating an educated generation capable of building the future.
