Trumpian Fascism
The speeches of the American president during his second term, along with his political team of ministers, envoys, and ambassadors, build an arrogant approach towards other countries, bypassing international norms in the structure of the global system, international relations rules, and principles of international law. They exhibit fascist tendencies by using justifications for his recent war on Iran that are based on the understanding and recommendations of his advisors who lack prior diplomatic or political experience or technical abilities in the files they are addressing.
His actions and statements, along with those of his political team, reflect racism towards the peoples of the Middle East. Statements like "the Iranian nation is a nation of terrorism and hate"; "children in Gaza are born with weapons in their hands"; the American envoy Tom Barrack labeling Middle Eastern countries as "mere villages and tribes"; and President Trump's comments about Israel’s small size in the vast Middle East, or statements made by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee that go beyond the land of Palestine to the biblical right over greater Israel "from the Euphrates to the Nile", alongside the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, his conduct with European Union countries, attempts to control Greenland, the Panama Canal, annex Canada, and alter the Gulf of Mexico, not to mention the violent altercation that occurred at the White House with Ukrainian President Zelensky, which was unprecedented in the White House foyer, reveal a profound and broad change in the behavior of the United States in international relations. It indicates a disregard for U.S. allies (as is the case with Ukraine, Gulf states, not to mention with Europe and NATO) or the interests of countries that have reliable relationships with the United States.
In my opinion, the governing rules of President Donald Trump's behavior are shaped by a mixture of rules; some are personal relating to Donald Trump's own narcissism, whimsicality, and love for stardom, wanting events to revolve around him, which he seeks to achieve consistently in his work, and the application of a business deal pattern to political work, paying the least money for the best specifications "real estate". This Machiavellian personality, which believes that the ends justify the means, is clearly evident in his political behavior in both terms, evolving into fascism through his control over the massive military power at the disposal of the United States. This is accompanied by the American personality's elitist nature, which believes that the United States rules the world or is the only dominant power in the world that no one dares to oppose.
His revival of the Monroe Doctrine as a governing principle of American policy in the Western hemisphere, "the backyard of the United States," is a principle declared in 1823 to prevent European intervention in the affairs of the American continent; that historically transformed from a defensive format to a political cover for intervention and dominance. Trump's second term has become not just a warning to external powers, but rather an explicit justification for rearranging the situation within the region if Washington sees that the balance of interests or national security necessitates it, and external intervention using military force.
Additionally, there is the isolationism in engaging with international organizations, especially those emanating from the United Nations under the pretext of ceasing to bear financial expenditures on matters outside the United States or international commitments that may not yield direct benefits to the United States, which represents a financial burden on the American treasury and taxpayers, or that these organizations are hostile to Israel.
Moreover, he surrounds himself with a team of advisors who adopt extremist right-wing ideas "enlisting extremist Yemenis to implement their ideas", and the idea of maximizing U.S. financial gains by obtaining minerals from Ukraine and financial investments from Gulf countries and major companies in the Middle East in exchange for support (alliance with) the United States. In addition to the principle of dealing with facts on the ground, i.e., acknowledging regional gains achieved through military force in an endless support of Israeli colonialism.
The revival of the Monroe Doctrine by President Donald Trump, which was used by Nazi leader Adolf Hitler himself under the name Lebensraum to control European countries in the 1930s leading to the outbreak of World War II, coupled with his alignment with the colonial tendency for domination and control by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Middle East, suggests that we are facing a methodology based on "Trumpian fascism" that demands changing the world order through military force, "peace through strength" instead of diplomatic means; which are grounded in the principles of international law, dialogue, and global cooperation established by humanity’s socio-political development, in resolving conflicts and disputes, portending the ignition of a global war.
