The Fall of Maduro: Israel the Biggest Beneficiary
Israeli media expressed overwhelming joy after the United States' arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Although Israel played a marginal role in the operation, it will reap the largest benefits from this American move.
Venezuela is not Israel's battlefield, nor has it directly threatened it. Trump acted on his own motives, far removed from any direct Israeli connection. Nevertheless, the anticipated change of government in Caracas is likely to pull Venezuela out of the anti-Israel axis.
For decades, Venezuela under Maduro and previously Chavez has been a close partner of Iran, including security cooperation, economic support, evasion of U.S. and international sanctions, along with political alliances with China and Russia against the United States. During the war against Israel, this relationship strengthened, including Venezuelan financial support for Hezbollah after Israeli strikes.
Israeli analysts point out that Venezuela's shift toward a stable democratic regime would mean another brick falling from the Iran axis, this time at the hands of the United States in Latin America, which is significant news for Israel.
Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado expressed her support for strengthening relations with Israel and had previously contacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to praise his decisions during the genocide in Gaza, for Israel's success in negotiating the release of hostages in Gaza, and for its efforts against the (Iranian evil) axis, which threatens not only Israel but also the Venezuelan people.
Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gidon Sa'ar stated that Venezuela had been a center for a network of narco-terrorist alliances, including elements from Hezbollah and Iranian weapon production facilities, and that Maduro had explicitly declared that his country is part of the resistance axis.
Establishing a pro-Western regime in Venezuela aligns with a broader trend on the continent in the past two years, where pro-Western and anti-Iran leaders have been elected in several countries. Even Argentine President Javier Milei launched an initiative to form a pro-U.S. and Israel alliance, which Venezuela is expected to join, weakening the arms of terrorism and Hezbollah in the region and strengthening the Western camp—something positive for Israel.
Israeli analysts see Maduro's arrest as bolstering Israel's standing within the new global order supported by the United States. Despite theoretical fears of Chinese or Russian backlash, the limited operation to arrest Maduro does not threaten the global balance of power, unlike any occupation of a major strategic state.
After weeks of relative calm, Trump and Netanyahu continued to push the new global and regional order forward. The Caracas operation, following a naval blockade and strikes on the drug and oil industry, brought Israel out of the margins of events to be a direct beneficiary of the incident.
Israeli positioning—parallel to U.S. forces in the Horn of Africa—allows control over strategic straits and chokes any Iranian attempts to harm global trade routes, cutting off funding sources for Hezbollah and its allies. The operation, according to Israeli analysts, represented an integrated step within the strategy to eliminate generators of (terrorism) away from Venezuela to the Port of Eilat and the Horn of Africa.
Internally in Israel, the joy of the operation has been exploited to strengthen the narrative of power and imperialism, with one analyst describing the operation as a return of "old imperialism" and depicting the occupying state as a key player in the "new world" being drawn by Trump.
However, beyond politics and strategic interests, the latter part of the story reveals a deeper crisis: the international system exists only as a façade. The so-called world order is merely Trump's world: absolute power for the great powers, where every aspect of the world is drained of humanity to benefit the capitalist elite, from the environment to the spirit to the smallest grain of sand.
In this reality, what happens in Venezuela and Gaza is not just a government change or a regional conflict. Today, Israel is the strongest ally of any corrupt capitalist regime, capable of manipulating any strategic event to enhance its regional standing, while the people remain victims of a grand game. Gaza, in particular, could either be the cradle of a new humanity or a shining memorial to wasted human hope.
What needs to happen now is not just a formal procedure, but a radical change in our understanding of the world and justice. There is no global approach based on solidarity and dignity, but a commitment and vision for a world that can be understood and shaped—a cosmos that does not succumb to the lowest and most debased expression of humanity.
The matter begins in Gaza, where the game becomes clear in its true dimensions: old imperialism is returning, in its worst forms, where the privilege of power becomes a measure of human redemption, and Israel, in all this, is not just a player but a symbol of what the world could become if this approach continues.
