Poll: Sharp Decline in Netanyahu's Popularity in Northern Israel Due to Lebanese War
SadaNews: A public opinion poll conducted by the "Agam Labs" at the Hebrew University in Israel, with results reported by Reuters, has shown a sharp decline in the popularity of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in northern Israel, as criticism of his performance rises amid the war in Lebanon.
According to the poll, residents of the north are abandoning Netanyahu's Likud party at a faster rate than voters in other regions, with only 23% of participants stating they would vote for the party in the upcoming elections, compared to the 35% it received in the 2022 elections. The right-wing bloc that forms Netanyahu's coalition also recorded a further decline in support levels in the region.
The poll indicated that about 70% of voters surveyed in northern Israel expressed dissatisfaction with the management of the war in Lebanon, signaling a growing trend of criticism aimed at the government in areas most affected by the repercussions of the confrontation on the northern border.
