Prohibited from Publication... When Truth Becomes a Crime and Lies Serve as a Passport
In an era where lying has become a profession that generates wealth, and hypocrisy is a ladder to fame and stardom, truth transforms into a heavy burden, pursuing those who speak it and ostracizing those who write for it. Publication is denied because you speak honestly, no platform is granted because you convey the voice of the people, and you write with a living conscience. Newspapers and websites are closed to you because you refused to be a megaphone, because you refused to sell your pen for the price of betrayal.
In editorial rooms, your articles are not read in search of substance, but scrutinized for violations. Any sentence that deviates from the "text", any description that displeases the ruler, any voice that fails to satisfy the politically appointed editor-in-chief, is enough to toss your article into the trash or send you into forced silence.
In repressive countries, the honest journalist is threatened, the free writer is shunned, and the media figure who refuses to be a mouthpiece is viewed as an enemy. They want you to be a drummer, a political clown, a praiseworthy figure rather than a critic, defending the authority's failures and corruption, distorting reality, and sabotaging the truth. They want you to glorify those who have destroyed, to justify those who have stolen, and to convince the people that the destruction of the country is a miracle of development.
But the question remains: what is the value of writing if it is not against injustice? What is the point of the pen if it does not stand with the hungry? Why do we write at all if we have to write what is dictated to us?! Those who write for the ruler live in lies, write lies, and die ostracized, while those who write for the people may live besieged, but their words remain alive, passed down through generations.
We are in an age where some writers have become slaves to regimes, some newspapers have turned into tools of deception, and some media outlets have become machines for mind-washing. Yet in some corner, there are those who write for free, risking their lives for a word, and there are those who read knowing that this voice is rare, sincere, and cannot be bought.
And because they know that the honest word terrifies them, they fight it, and because they realize that the free voice shakes their thrones, they imprison it, silence it, or marginalize it. But despite everything, truth will remain stubborn, never die, and never be sold. The free word will remain the last form of resistance against all this destruction.
