Ben Gvir Rejects Deployment of Multinational Force in Gaza and Calls for Encouraging Migration

SadaNews: Israeli National Security Minister, the extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, emphasized his strong opposition to the decision to deploy multinational forces in the Gaza Strip, asserting that relying on foreign troops is futile, while reiterating his call to encourage the migration of Palestinians.

Ben Gvir explained that the reality proves Hamas’s refusal to relinquish its weapons and its ongoing efforts to strengthen its military capabilities, which is why he rejects the proposals concerning the management of the sector after the war.

Ben Gvir’s statements came following the approval of the Israeli security and political cabinet (the Cabinet) to introduce a “Peace Council” and international forces into the Gaza Strip. The approved plan includes launching a pilot phase in the city of Rafah in the southern sector over the coming weeks, involving the rehabilitation of essential services, the introduction of aid, and the establishment of temporary housing for Palestinians in areas controlled by the Israeli army and not subjected to Hamas, provided that those wishing to transition there undergo stringent security vetting procedures.

The management of this pilot area is set to be undertaken by a “Palestinian Technocrat Committee” established under American plans, supported by an “International Stability Force,” with the aim of expanding this model to other areas in the sector if successful.

These moves come as part of efforts by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advance steps related to the future of Gaza before his anticipated meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, and shortly after meetings conducted by officials in the “Peace Council” with Israeli officials to discuss the proposed arrangements, amid ongoing Israeli assaults in the sector despite the current ceasefire agreement.
