Incursions and Arrests Targeting Workers in the West Bank
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces launched a wide campaign of incursions and raids in various areas of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem at dawn and on Monday morning, resulting in the arrests of several Palestinians, including workers, along with limited confrontations in some areas.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces arrested two young men: Ibrahim Mohammed Damasa from Al-Saff street in the center of the city, and Samid Nimer Al-Atiq from Aida Camp to the north, after raiding and searching their homes, according to the Prisoners Club.
In Nablus Governorate, three citizens were arrested from the town of Qusra south of the city after the town was raided at dawn and several houses in the Ras Al-Ain area were searched. They are Qusay Abdul-Mun'im Abu Rida, Fadi Shahada Awda, and Yusuf Abdul-Salam Hassan.
In addition, several Palestinian workers were arrested in the northern Tulkarem area while they were in the plain between the towns of Attil and Deir al-Ghusun, as part of the pursuit of workers during their commute to work.
In occupied Jerusalem, the occupation forces arrested a number of young men during a raid on the town of Hizma north of the city.
Incursions and arrests continue almost daily in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including raids on homes, searches, and the detention of citizens, amid the ongoing targeting of Palestinian workers during their transit to work.
Israeli Raid on Birzeit University and Attack on Security Guard
Israeli occupation forces raided the campus of Birzeit University north of Ramallah at dawn on Monday, with extensive military presence inside the university campus, and attacked a security guard during the operation.
Local sources reported that the forces raided university buildings and stormed the College of Sports, where extensive searches were conducted, including the breaking of contents and damaging equipment inside the facilities.
The sources added that the occupation soldiers assaulted security guard Bashir Zalloul Al-Khatib (40 years old) during the raid.
This incursion comes in the context of a series of previous raids targeting Birzeit University, witnessing assaults on students and staff, as well as the vandalism of university facilities and the confiscation of materials belonging to student groups.
