RVF Foundation Launches New Water Desalination Unit in Northern Gaza Strip
SadaNews - The Rostropovich Vishnevskaya (RVF) International Foundation inaugurated a drinking water desalination unit in the Al-Zarqa area, south of Jabaliya town in northern Gaza Strip.
A team of engineers from the foundation installed and commissioned the water desalination unit in the area, which is located around the "yellow line" controlled by Israeli forces.
Residents of the Al-Zarqa area and its vicinity suffer from a severe shortage of safe drinking water due to the significant damage to infrastructure and their proximity to the "yellow line," as well as the inability of various entities to provide water consistently. This situation prompted the management of the international foundation to equip a comprehensive desalination unit that offers free services to the residents.
The water desalination unit will provide more than 1,000 liters of potable water every hour.
This project is part of the RVF Foundation's commitment to work for the health and safety of children and their families, contributing to alleviating the severe humanitarian crisis in drinking water that the Gaza Strip is experiencing, which has worsened in the past few weeks as other desalination plants ceased operations due to shortages of fuel, oils, and other necessities.
The foundation plans to continue its mission through international partners and donors, installing additional units in the most needy areas to enhance the safety of children and their families, most of whom are living in displacement tents.
