Incursions in the West Bank and Jerusalem Amid Arrests and Assaults by Settlers

SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces continued their incursions into several cities and towns in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem on Thursday morning and at dawn, carrying out a wide campaign of raids and arrests. This was accompanied by house searches and tampering with their contents, in addition to subjecting a number of Palestinians to field interrogations and holding them for hours. Various areas also witnessed assaults carried out by settlers against residents and their properties.

In Nablus Governorate, occupation forces arrested young man Jaafar Youssef Rayhan from the village of Tal while he was passing by his vehicle near the village of Burqa northwest of the city. They also stormed the Al-Ein camp west of Nablus, while settlers raided the village of Aurrata southeast of the governorate.

In Tulkarem, occupation forces raided the Shuweika neighborhood north of the city, where they stormed a residential building and carried out searches inside it. Meanwhile, in Hebron Governorate, they invaded the town of Idna west of the city, seizing seven water tankers during the operation.

Occupation forces also raided a house in the Ras al-Tawil area of Sa'ir, firing sound bombs during the incursion, before arresting citizen Ashraf Al-Halaika following the raid on his home.

In Qalqilya, occupation forces stormed the town of Kafr Qaddum east of the city, invading one of the houses while simultaneously firing illumination bombs around the town.

In Ramallah and Al-Bireh, occupation forces stormed the city of Al-Bireh and the Al-Am'ari camp, firing sound bombs, while settlers carried out provocative rounds near the homes of Palestinians on the outskirts of Kafr Malik village. They also invaded the "Omayhat" gathering east of the village of Taybeh.

The incursions extended to Jenin Governorate, where a foot force from the occupation army raided a house in the Jabriyat neighborhood adjacent to the Jenin camp, while occupation forces invaded the Shuafat camp north of occupied Jerusalem.

These incursions come amid a rise in assaults by the occupation army and settlers throughout the West Bank. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that the occupation forces and settlers carried out 1,659 assaults during the month of May, including 1,108 assaults committed by the occupation army, indicating a continuation of the pace of field escalation.
