Raids and Arrests in the West Bank, Settlers Attack Burqa and Destroy Property

SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces launched a wide-scale raid and incursion campaign in various areas of the occupied West Bank on Tuesday morning, resulting in confrontations and the arrest of several Palestinians, along with the storming of dozens of homes, searching their contents, and subjecting residents to field investigations after holding them for hours.

In the same context, groups of settlers increased their assaults on Palestinians, their properties, and vehicles in several areas of the West Bank.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the occupation forces arrested at least 16 Palestinians during the campaign from the provinces of Bethlehem, Hebron, and Tubas.

It clarified that 9 citizens were arrested in Bethlehem, including: Khalil Imad Al-Amour from Teqoa, Fadi Abd Al-Hadi Hamad, and Abdul Hadi Aref Hamad from Al-Saf Street area, Jamil Raghib Al-Lahham, and the brothers Majd and Amjad Saleh Abu Akar, as well as Muhammad Ibrahim Hussein Abiyat from Abu Fraihah area, in addition to Marwan Mahmoud Issa Farraj, the secretary of the Fatah movement in Aida refugee camp, and Talal Ahmed Salama Abiyat from Hindaza area.

The occupation forces also arrested 6 citizens from Hebron province after storming the al-Fawar refugee camp south of the city, namely: Salah Al-Izza, Murad Al-Bayyad, Abdullah Al-Izza, Hadi Ahdeib, Muhammad Hassan Al-Sous, and Ahmad Hazem Abu Hashhash.

In Tubas province, Amin Hosni Bani Uda was arrested after forces stormed and searched his house in Tammun town south of the city.

Cities and towns in the West Bank witness almost daily incursions and raid campaigns conducted by occupation forces, which include extensive arrests and searches, primarily focusing on citizens’ homes and refugee camps.

Settlers Attack Burqa Village and Destroy Property

Groups of settlers attacked Burqa village east of Ramallah in the central West Bank early Tuesday, vandalizing residents' property and damaging two vehicles before withdrawing from the area.

Local sources reported that several settlers infiltrated the outskirts of the village under the cover of darkness and carried out assaults targeting vehicles belonging to residents, resulting in material damage.

Burqa village has been subjected to repeated attacks by settlers, including home invasions, burning of agricultural crops, and property vandalism, amidst a rise in the frequency of these assaults.

In a related context, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 1,659 incidents in the West Bank and Jerusalem during last May, including 1,108 incidents carried out by the occupation army and 551 incidents executed by settlers. The incidents varied between physical violence, uprooting trees, setting fields on fire, preventing farmers from accessing their lands, in addition to demolishing homes, agricultural facilities, and seizing properties.
