Jordan's Interior Minister Conducts Surprise Inspection Visit to King Hussein Bridge

SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Interior stated that its Minister Mazen Al-Farraya conducted a surprise inspection visit to the King Hussein Bridge this morning, marking his second visit in a week, at a time when Palestinian travelers are suffering from extremely poor travel conditions.

The visit aims to monitor the conditions at the bridge and to assess the reality of services provided to travelers, in addition to evaluating measures taken to manage travel flow and reduce congestion.

Last Sunday, the Jordanian Interior Minister Al-Farraya conducted a field visit to the King Hussein Bridge, during which he affirmed that the bridge is a unique humanitarian crossing, linking Jordan with the Palestinian territories and is directly affected by Israeli procedures, operational hours, and sudden closures that may occur at times.

During the visit, he emphasized the importance of the electronic platform in organizing travel movement and prior bookings according to the available capacity, asserting that adherence to prior bookings helps reduce congestion and speeds up the processing of procedures.

He also clarified that the Ministry of Interior is implementing projects to develop infrastructure at the bridge, which include the construction of waiting halls and canopies for travelers, establishing new facilities for cargo and public transport, as well as rehabilitating passport halls and improving the level of services provided to travelers.

Al-Farraya previously confirmed that Jordan welcomes all arrivals through the King Hussein Bridge without restrictions on numbers or timing, while some delays and congestion are linked to procedures and restrictions enforced on the other side.
