Governor of the Monetary Authority: Supporting the Resilience of Local Authorities is a Priority by Expanding Access to Funding Programs and Banking Services
SadaNews - The Governor of the Monetary Authority, Yihya Shannar, emphasized the Authority's commitment to supporting the resilience of citizens and local authorities, especially in areas facing exceptional challenges, by expanding access to banking services and economic development-supporting programs and initiatives. This was during his meeting with a delegation of representatives from local authorities in the villages of Deir Estiya, Haris, Qira, and Kifl Haris, attended by Deputy Governor Mohammed Manasra and several department directors.
During the meeting, mechanisms to expand citizens' access to banking services in those areas and increase their usage were discussed, aimed at improving the quality of financial services provided to them. Additionally, there was a focus on intensifying awareness around the use of electronic payment methods and providing the necessary support to enable citizens and local authorities to access the services and programs offered by the Monetary Authority.
The governor called on local authorities and citizens to benefit from the funding programs and initiatives provided by the Monetary Authority, which aim to support economic development and respond to the needs of various sectors. He clarified that among the most prominent of these programs is the "Shamsi Palestine" program, which the Monetary Authority recently launched under the "Sustainable" fund to finance solar energy projects for local authorities, contributing to reducing energy costs and enhancing sustainability, in addition to the "Bader" program dedicated to supporting and financing workers who have lost their jobs under the current circumstances, along with other programs and initiatives targeting various sectors and segments of society.
For their part, representatives of local authorities appreciated the efforts of the Monetary Authority and its initiatives targeting various sectors that meet the needs of citizens and local authorities, commending its role in developing supportive services and programs and enhancing access for beneficiary groups.
Local authority representatives affirmed the importance of continued communication and coordination with the Monetary Authority to identify how to benefit from the offered programs and initiatives, and to enhance awareness of them among citizens, which contributes to expanding the beneficiary base and strengthening their impact on serving local communities.
