Ramallah and Al-Bireh Forces Call on the Government to Direct Resources to Support the Resilience of Frontline Villages Against Settler Attacks
SadaNews - The national and Islamic forces in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate confirmed the national unity and internal solidarity to confront settler assaults and to protect the villages and towns that are subjected to their daily terrorism with full support and cover from the occupation government. They emphasized the importance of activating popular protection committees and called on the government to provide resources within what is available despite the difficult circumstances to equip these villages with the means to survive and withstand the ongoing ethnic cleansing policies and plans, aimed at consolidating the reality on the ground. They demand that the villages and towns in the eastern line of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh countryside, as well as areas adjacent to the settlements, be prioritized within programs and projects to fortify the resilience of citizens and farmers on their land. They called for a national official and popular plan to confront these schemes comprehensively and widely in order to thwart them.
The statement from the forces addressed during their meeting on Saturday morning the blatant violations faced by the female and male prisoners from the prison administrations, including torture, mistreatment, systematic medical neglect, and practices that have surpassed all international norms and conventions, including rape and sexual assaults. This situation necessitates international will to activate legal accountability tools and impose sanctions on the occupying state to force it to comply with international law. They also call on the United Nations and its institutions, following the inclusion of the occupying state on the blacklist, to activate the available path to prosecute it given its insistence on committing war crimes against the female and male prisoners and against the Palestinian people in general. Furthermore, they demand broad popular participation in activities and events supporting the female and male prisoners in city centers and in front of UN offices to play their role in stopping these racist policies.
The forces emphasize the importance of heading towards a comprehensive national dialogue that strengthens internal structures and bolsters popular and national frameworks based on a struggle program that adheres to national constants, protects legitimate rights, and safeguards the representation unity of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) for the Palestinian people in all areas of their presence. They seek to end the illusions of occupation that aim to separate the West Bank from its political and geographical unity with the Gaza Strip. They affirm that the upcoming elections in November are a natural right to renew the role of the organization’s institutions to serve the continuation of the struggle until freedom and independence are achieved.
The forces stress the importance of protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites that are subject to attempts by the occupation to impose its narrative by continuing to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque, changing the character of the city, demolishing houses, seizing properties, and constructing settlements in the Palestinian desert to the east, which includes Khan Al-Ahmar and other areas. This requires reinforcing efforts to protect the city and continuing support for the resilience of its people.
