Prisoners' Club: The number of female prisoners rises to 89 in occupation prisons
SadaNews - The Prisoners' Club stated that the occupation authorities continue to escalate targeting women through systematic and continuous arrest campaigns, as the number of female prisoners has risen again to 89, following the arrest of four girls early this morning.
The club clarified in a statement issued today, Tuesday, that among the female prisoners are three minors, three pregnant women, and 19 administrative detainees, in addition to two prisoners suffering from cancer. It noted that the majority are held in "Damon" prison, with others in interrogation and detention centers.
The club pointed out that the female prisoners are subjected to harsh detention conditions that include starvation, medical neglect, isolation, assaults, humiliating searches, alongside severe overcrowding within the cells, where some are forced to sleep on the floor.
It indicated that the rate of repression within the prisons has clearly escalated, with repeated incidents of physical assaults and the implementation of systematic abusive policies, alongside the continuation of the arrest policy based on "incitement" or administrative detention under the pretext of "secret files", noting that more than 760 cases of arrests of women have been recorded since the onset of the annihilation.
It highlighted the worsening health conditions, especially with the presence of female prisoners suffering from chronic diseases like cancer, and their deprivation of treatment, within a policy based on starvation and the spread of diseases inside prisons.
The Prisoners' Club confirmed that these practices are part of an organized torture system targeting male and female prisoners, demanding the immediate release of female prisoners, especially children, pregnant women, and the sick, and the cessation of continuous violations against them.
