The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Condemns the Incursion of the Israeli Extremist Minister "Ben Gvir" into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque

SadaNews - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned in the strongest terms the incursion of the extremist "Itamar Ben Gvir", a minister in the Israeli occupation government, into the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, leading groups of extremist settlers and raising the flag of the Israeli occupation alongside engaging in provocative rituals within its courtyards, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, considering this a blatant assault and a deliberate provocation of the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

The General Secretariat reiterated the organization's firm position that Israel, as the occupying power, has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including occupied East Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. All measures and practices taken by the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem are null and void under international law and related United Nations resolutions.

The General Secretariat also held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the serious repercussions of the continuation of these repeated violations, reiterating its call for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in putting an end to the Israeli occupation's plans aimed at changing the geographical and demographic situation of occupied Jerusalem, and attempts to undermine the historical and legal status of its holy places, particularly the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which could fuel violence, tension, and instability in the region and around the world.
