An-Najah National University Excels in the Korean Innovation Ranking for 2026
SadaNews - In a new global achievement that reflects its ongoing leadership in innovation and institutional transformation, An-Najah National University has made significant progress in the WURI 2026 ranking (World University Ranking for Innovation), ranking 283rd globally among the best innovative universities worldwide, up from 340th in the 2025 edition.
This achievement came amid wide international competition, including 1,927 universities and higher education institutions from 96 countries around the world, through the evaluation of 13,211 innovative projects and programs participating in the ranking, with the official results announced during the annual conference hosted by National Chi-Nan University in Taiwan from May 6-8, 2026.
The WURI ranking (World University Rankings for Innovation) is one of the most important international rankings that measure universities’ capacity for innovation, societal impact, and institutional transformation, moving away from traditional criteria that focus solely on academic reputation or the number of published research.
The university has achieved remarkable accomplishments in a large number of global categories, entering the top 100 globally in 12 main axes through a range of pioneering projects and programs:

The WURI ranking differs from traditional university rankings as it focuses on genuine innovation capable of solving problems in unconventional ways, the societal, economic, and educational impact of university initiatives, entrepreneurship and crisis response, institutional transformation, and universities' contribution to building a more sustainable and impactful future.
The ranking is overseen by several international academic institutions and organizations, serving as a global platform for evaluating universities that adopt innovation as a strategic approach in education, management, and community service.
The university confirmed that this achievement reflects its ongoing vision to enhance the innovation ecosystem, digital transformation, and applied research, developing an academic environment capable of keeping pace with global transformations, despite the exceptional challenges facing Palestine, making the university a global model in innovative education and sustainable development.
