Person Killed in Shooting Incident in Shfar'am
SadaNews - A person (43 years old) was killed this morning, Wednesday, in a shooting incident in the city of Shfar'am.
Medical teams arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the victim before declaring his death.
The occupation police claimed that they have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crime and have initiated search operations for the perpetrators. Initial investigations indicate that the motive behind the crime is criminal in nature.
This crime comes in light of the increasing incidents of violence and gunfire in the Arab community over recent times.
100 Deaths in the Arab Community Since the Beginning of the Year
The community in the country has witnessed a rise in incidents of violence and crime in recent years, including stabbings and murders in several towns. The police attribute the majority of these crimes to criminal and personal disputes, while observers point to deeper social and economic factors contributing to the aggravation of the phenomenon.
This comes amidst an unprecedented rise in murder cases within the Arab community since the beginning of this year, with the toll rising to 100 deaths. Data shows that about 96 of the victims were killed by gunfire, alongside stabbing crimes, while one woman was burned to death inside a vehicle.
Figures also indicate that more than 51 of the deceased were under the age of thirty, including 9 women, while 4 others were killed by police gunfire, without including them in the murder tally. This statistic does not include crimes in East Jerusalem.
