The Popular Committee in Nazareth Protests the Publication of Tenders in Hebrew Only and Demands Respect for the Status of Arabic

SadaNews - The Popular Committee in the city of Nazareth has called upon the appointed committee managing municipal affairs to require all its departments to publish tenders, announcements, and official guidelines in Arabic alongside Hebrew, following the recent publication of several tenders in Hebrew only.

In a letter addressed to the head of the appointed committee in the municipality, Yakov Efrati, the committee emphasized that the Arabic language constitutes the daily language of life for the majority of the city's residents, and that neglecting it in official publications undermines the residents' right to access information in a fair and equal manner.

The committee explained that limiting publications to the Hebrew language creates obstacles for contractors, business owners, and job applicants, restricting their ability to follow up on procedures and official materials issued by the municipality.

The Popular Committee affirmed the necessity of adopting both Arabic and Hebrew in all municipal advertisements, tenders, and directives, thereby enhancing transparency and ensuring the right of all residents to be informed and participate equally.
