Hebrew Channel: Egypt Offered Hamas to Hand Over Its Weapons to Cairo as a Custody
SadaNews Translation - The Hebrew Channel Reshet Kan reported on Thursday evening that Egypt has once again offered Hamas the option of surrendering its weapons instead of disarming.
According to the channel, as translated by SadaNews, high-level talks are currently taking place in Cairo with a delegation from Hamas in an attempt to persuade them to show flexibility regarding disarmament.
An informed Egyptian source told the channel that the Egyptians are trying to revive an idea previously proposed, which involves Hamas handing over its weapons to Egypt as a custody.
According to the channel, in light of the stalemate in negotiations with Hamas, the Egyptians are trying to pressure the organization to accept the mentioned settlement proposal as an alternative to disarmament, in order to move to the second stage of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza.
The source stated: Hamas shows no signs of retreat; rather, it is wasting time.
