Um al-Fahm: The Release of Protesters Under Restrictive Conditions After a Demonstration Against the Death Penalty Law for Prisoners
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation police released 7 protesters after detaining them during a demonstration held in the city of Um al-Fahm in opposition to the law of executing Palestinian prisoners, including the head of the popular committee in the city, Muhammad Mahamid.
The police imposed restrictive conditions on the protesters after their release, including banishment from the Wadi Ara area for 15 days and house arrest for some of them.
The demonstration, which took place at the first roundabout in the city, was attended by families and activists at the invitation of the popular committee in Um al-Fahm, as part of its ongoing activities.
The protesters raised banners demanding the repeal of the law, considering it to contradict human values, especially in light of what they described as the systematic oppression and starvation of Palestinian prisoners within Israeli prisons.
A large presence of Israeli police forces and various units was around the area, tightening their grip on participants from the start of the demonstration.
