Rahat: Administrative Closure Orders and Arrests Due to Criminal and Family Disputes
SadaNews - The occupying police issued administrative closure orders for a period of 20 days against four businesses in the city of Rahat in the Negev region, southern Israel, including a restaurant, a garage, and furniture stores. This step was described as "preemptive and preventive".
On Wednesday, the police claimed that "the decision came following information indicating serious concerns about the possibility of these businesses being subjected to gunfire and direct targeting, stemming from an ongoing criminal and family dispute, which could pose a real danger to the lives of the workers and customers present in the location".
In a related context, the police announced that "as part of their efforts to contain the effects of family disputes, police forces carried out raids in several neighborhoods of the city of Rahat, resulting in the arrest of 13 suspects believed to be involved in shooting incidents".
The police also announced the "seizure of various weapons and munitions during this campaign", claiming that "the continuation of our intensive activities aims to impose security and order, and to prevent the escalation of violent acts that threaten the safety of the residents".
