Fattouh: What Haaretz Revealed is Compelling Evidence of the Crimes of the Occupation System and Settlers
SadaNews - The Chairman of the Palestinian National Council, Rouhi Fattouh, stated that what the newspaper "Haaretz" has uncovered regarding crimes, brutal acts, and horrific terrorism, funded by the extremist right-wing government, constitutes compelling evidence of the nature of the colonial system that governs the behavior of settlers and the occupying army, which is based on systematic killing, repression, and violation of human dignity.
Fattouh confirmed that the horrific terrorist attacks on the Khirbat Hamseh community in the northern Jordan Valley, which included serious sexual assaults and physical and psychological torture, as well as threats of murder and rape against women and children, represent a documented complete crime that amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity, committed under the protection and supervision of the occupying army, which provided full cover for settler gangs and prevented the victims from defending themselves.
He added that these crimes complement the policy of field killing that led to the martyrdom and injury of the youths, Fathi Sahouri and Salim Fakha, by the gunfire of the occupying army in northern Ramallah, while preventing Red Crescent crews from providing them with aid, just two days after the execution of the father, mother, and their two children in the town of Tamoun, north of Tubas, which clearly affirms an official trend targeting the children of the Palestinian people indiscriminately, reflecting a serious escalation in the use of lethal force against civilians, especially children.
Fattouh emphasized that the extreme occupying government led by Netanyahu and his ministers Ben Gvir and Smotrich bear full responsibility for these crimes, as they provide funding, protection, and guidance to settler gangs, and manage an organized system of violence aimed at imposing a coercive reality based on terrorism and ethnic cleansing.
The Chairman of the Council called on the international community, especially the International Criminal Court, to take immediate action and open serious investigations into these crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable, emphasizing that continued international silence constitutes indirect complicity and encourages the repetition of these serious violations.
Fattouh concluded by affirming that the Palestinian people will not leave nor abandon their roots and history to a group of terrorists and an occupying entity that is alien to their land and nation, and they will remain steadfast in the face of these crimes, adhering to their legitimate national rights, foremost of which is the right to life, freedom, dignity, and independence.
