Rahat Municipality Suspends Education Resumption Due to Lack of Protective Measures
SadaNews - The Rahat Municipality announced today, Sunday, that schools will not resume due to a lack of sufficient protective measures and shelters in the city, amidst the ongoing rocket attacks resulting from the war on Iran.
The municipality confirmed that it will inform the Ministry of Education of its decision, emphasizing that the safety of students and educational staff remains the top priority, and calling on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to prepare the necessary protective infrastructure.
In a statement issued by the municipality, it was noted that "despite the announcement by the Home Front allowing the education system to resume in towns that have adequate protective measures and shelters, the Rahat Municipality asserts that due to the significant gaps in protective measures between the city of Rahat and the surrounding towns, and the lack of sufficient shelters in educational institutions, the municipality will not allow students to return to their studies at this stage."
It added that "based on its responsibility for the safety of students and educational staff, Rahat Municipality will approach the Ministry of Education to inform them of the decision to not resume classes until the necessary protective measures are provided in the schools."
The municipality emphasized that "the safety of our students and educational staff remains the number one priority," and called on the relevant authorities to "immediately work on providing the required protective infrastructure."
