OIC Calls on the International Community to Stop the Closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Occupation
SadaNews - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, sent urgent messages to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, expressing his strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation's closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan.
Taha warned that these actions constitute "a gross violation of international law" and undermine international peace and security, reaffirming the organization's firm rejection of attempts to change the historical and legal status of the holy places in occupied Jerusalem.
He called on international and European officials for immediate intervention and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to respect freedom of worship and to cease its actions immediately.
