In Remote and Isolated Villages .. Medical Campaigns by SadaNews to Support the Resilience of Jerusalemites

SadaNews - A small square in the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem, has turned into an open medical clinic, where dozens of residents gathered since the morning, waiting for their turn for medical examinations or consultations with doctors.

There, amidst this atmosphere, the Al-Quds Charity Agency continued to implement its field medical campaigns targeting Bedouin communities and remote villages in the Jerusalem Governorate, as part of its annual social assistance program on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH.

Today, the medical campaign reached the town of Biddu, after having previously included areas such as Khan al-Ahmar, Jahalin, Al-Muntar, Beit Anan, Jab’a, Al-Sawahra, Qatana, Qalandia Camp, Beit Hanina Al-Balad, and Al-Qubayba, in partnership with 'Astra Lab' laboratories.
Citizen Amal Hussein Abu Eid from the town of Biddu stated, "I rushed to the medical center after hearing from neighbors about a medical day with several doctors," adding: "This day is an opportunity for many families in the area who live under difficult economic conditions to receive medical services.

The campaign included various medical services, encompassing laboratory tests through a mobile lab, clinics for internal medicine, pediatrics, and ophthalmology.

The former mayor of Biddu, Salem Abu Eid, said that "organizing this medical campaign in the area reflects the humanitarian aspect of the initiatives carried out by the Al-Quds Charity Agency, especially in remote areas and Bedouin gatherings surrounding Jerusalem."

He added that the agency is always keen to stand by the needy and low-income families through humanitarian and medical initiatives that contribute to alleviating their suffering, especially in light of the difficult economic and living conditions in the region.
Dr. Dalia Jaradat, director of the 'Astra Lab' laboratories, points out that these field medical campaigns aim to reach population clusters suffering from limited health services, to help residents ensure their health status.

Jaradat explained that medical teams focused during these campaigns on early detection of diseases in children, as well as monitoring internal diseases in adults, in addition to conducting vision tests.

Residents of the villages and Bedouin gatherings surrounding Jerusalem face daily challenges that go beyond the lack of medications or medical equipment, including weak health infrastructure, a shortage of medical personnel, and difficulties in accessing hospitals and health centers.

The medical campaigns implemented by the Al-Quds Charity Agency contribute to alleviating the suffering of the residents there and providing a minimum level of healthcare, which enhances families' ability to survive and confront the ongoing challenges and pressures targeting their existence on their land.

It is worth noting that the agency, which is affiliated with the Jerusalem Committee headed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, had intensified its efforts in December 2025 by setting up twenty primary healthcare points in several villages in the Jerusalem Governorate, including Wadi Abu Hindi, Khan al-Ahmar, Biddu Al-Khalil, Al-Muntar, Jab’a, and Mikhmas, alongside supporting schools with educational supplies and digital means.
