Israeli Occupation Police Ban Sheikh Mohammed Amara from Zoflath from Al-Aqsa for 6 Months
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation police have banned Sheikh Mohammed Amara from the town of Zoflath in the Wadi Ara area from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for 6 months, starting from this month until the beginning of September 2026.
The imam of the Al-Farouq Mosque in Zoflath received the deportation decision via a text message on the "WhatsApp" application, after the police had summoned him about 10 days ago for questioning at the police station in Umm al-Fahm, and then informed him to head to the "Qishla" police station in Jerusalem, but he did not go there due to the outbreak of war on Iran and the state of emergency in the country.
In light of this, Sheikh Mohammed Amara stated, "I received a message today via the 'WhatsApp' messaging application from the police station in Jerusalem, stating that I am banned from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque for 6 months, starting from March 1st of this month until September 1st of next month."
He added, "About 10 days ago, I received a notice that the police placed at the entrance to my house, requiring me to report to their center in Umm al-Fahm. I went there, where they informed me that I had to go for questioning at the Qishla Center in Jerusalem."
Sheikh Amara indicated that "summoning me for questioning in Umm al-Fahm and then to Jerusalem is an attempt to impose restrictions, as they asked me to go to the Qishla center on Saturday, and I told them I couldn't, and I was supposed to go on Sunday, but I didn’t go due to the outbreak of war the day before."
He continued, "Since the beginning of Ramadan, I have not gone to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and despite this, the police came and summoned me for questioning and then banned me from it for 6 months. These deportations are aimed at emptying the mosque of worshippers and achieving what the authorities want regarding the division of Al-Aqsa."
Sheikh Amara concluded by saying, "It is unreasonable what has happened of emptying Al-Aqsa Mosque from worshippers, while settlers and Jews perform their rituals in the area of the Western Wall. This double standard aims to empty and remove Muslims from the mosque."
