In Light of the War: Postponement of Protest Tents Within Arab Towns
SadaNews - The Follow-Up Committee for Arab Communities, the National Committee of Local Authority Heads, and popular committees announced the postponement of the "protest tents against crime and violence" that were scheduled to begin next Monday in Arab towns, amid the current circumstances.
They clarified, in a joint statement on Saturday, that the decision comes until conditions related to the war end and stability is achieved, "based on the responsibility towards citizens and a commitment to their safety, and to ensure the organization of a wide and impactful event at the appropriate time."
The statement confirmed that the postponement "does not mean a retreat from the struggle against crime and violence, but is a temporary organizational step," noting that a new date will be announced soon.
The statement concluded: "Together we will continue until we break the cycle of crime."
