The President Receives the Annual Civil Defense Report for 2025

SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas received today, Monday, the annual report of the Palestinian Civil Defense for the year 2025, during his meeting with the Director General of the Civil Defense, Major General Akram Thawabteh, and the leadership of the agency, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

Major General Thawabteh reviewed the most important indicators and statistics included in the annual report, where the Civil Defense handled 14,000 response cases that involved rescue and firefighting services, while public safety teams inspected 55,000 facilities regarding public safety procedures.

The Civil Defense leader indicated that in 2025, 240,000 citizens were trained in various provinces of the homeland on civil defense sciences, and 3,000 volunteers were prepared. He explained that the developmental plans set for the agency include improving the performance of its members, including response speed and increasing the spread of Civil Defense centers, with a plan that includes opening 10 Civil Defense centers in Palestinian villages and communities, the first of which will be in southeast Nablus.

The president praised the results of the report and the significant progress witnessed by the Civil Defense agency, thanks to the efforts of its leadership and members, which positively reflected on providing services to citizens and the speed of response to incidents. He emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination with various relevant parties to contribute to establishing the concept of community security.
