Al-Quds Money Agency Launches Social Assistance Campaign from the Villages of Nabi Samuel and Al-Jadira

SadaNews - The Al-Quds Money Agency launched its annual social assistance campaign on Wednesday, to mark the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH, from the villages of Nabi Samuel and Al-Jadira, northwest of Jerusalem, under the supervision of the acting director of the agency, Muhammad Salem Al-Sharqawi, and in the presence of several local officials and notable figures.

The campaign launch events began with the distribution of food parcels to beneficiary families in the village of Nabi Samuel, while ready-made iftar meals were distributed in the village of Al-Jadira for the benefit of needy residents of Jerusalem, in a spirit of solidarity that reflects the values of mutual support and cooperation embodied by this blessed month.

The lists of beneficiaries for this campaign are prepared by social specialists according to specific criteria that ensure fairness and transparency in distribution, taking into account various neighborhoods, camps, villages, and towns throughout Jerusalem, under the supervision of the agency's program and project coordination office in the holy city, ensuring that assistance reaches those who deserve it and enhances its social and humanitarian impact.

This year’s social assistance campaign program includes the distribution of five thousand food baskets containing 22 types of essential items, directed at needy Palestinian families in the city and in the villages of Jerusalem Governorate, in addition to providing food supplies for a number of charitable institutions and community centers to enable them to prepare about 20,000 iftar meals daily throughout the holy month.

The program also includes the distribution of Eid al-Fitr clothing for 500 orphans sponsored by the agency, and the organization of medical campaigns for the benefit of residents, alongside reviving religious chanting activities and the recitation of the Holy Quran, and holding nights of remembrance and benevolence, as well as organizing training programs for Palestinian associations in areas of commercial marketing skills development and human development projects, contributing to enhancing their capabilities and achieving sustainability in their interventions.

In a speech on the occasion, Al-Sharqawi affirmed that the launch of this campaign from the villages located northwest of Jerusalem carries a symbolic significance reflecting the agency's commitment to reaching the most needy communities, especially in areas facing increasing social and economic challenges.

He added that "the Al-Quds Money Agency continues its work according to a comprehensive vision that combines humanitarian, social, and developmental aspects, in accordance with the royal directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee emanating from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to support the steadfastness of the people of Jerusalem and enhance their presence in their city, through social and developmental programs and projects."
