Formation of the "Qatar Emergency Headquarters Against Crime" to Organize Movements in Arab Towns
SadaNews - The Qatari Committee of Heads of Arab Local Authorities, in consultation with the Higher Follow-Up Committee, announced the establishment of the "Qatar Emergency Headquarters Against Crime," in a move aimed at organizing and expanding popular movements in various Arab towns, in light of the rising crime and the ongoing absence of what has been described as official intent and will to curb the grip of criminal gangs in the Arab community.
A statement issued by the Qatari Committee indicated that the establishment of the headquarters is part of a broad and coordinated framework to organize anti-crime activities and to expand the scope of protests to include wider segments of society, including the Jewish community, confirming that the issue of personal security affects all citizens without exception.
The statement clarified that the emergency headquarters will work to exert pressure on the police to perform their essential role in protecting citizens, uncovering crimes, collecting illegal weapons, and dismantling criminal organizations. It will also demand that the government implement existing decisions in a real and serious manner, and work to reduce social and economic gaps that are considered as fueling the phenomenon of crime.
The initiators of the project emphasized the importance of mobilizing broad public opinion that establishes the principle that security is a fundamental right for every citizen, regardless of their national or religious affiliation.
The statement noted that a series of protest activities will be announced soon in several Arab towns through various media platforms.
At the end of the statement, two contact names were mentioned: Raed Daqa, the mayor of Baqa al-Gharbiyye, and Youssef Salem, a member of the Qatar Emergency Headquarters Against Crime.
The statement also mentioned adopting the visual vision and the Sakhnin initiative to unify efforts against violence and crime, by adopting it as an official background for the statement.
