Occupation notifies the evacuation and demolition of more than 20 homes and establishments in Anata, north of Jerusalem
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation authorities notified today, Sunday, the evacuation and demolition of more than 20 residential, agricultural, and commercial homes and establishments in the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, in a move that threatens to displace dozens of families and deprive them of their homes and sources of livelihood.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation forces delivered notifications to homeowners in the area of Wadi al-Bayk in the town, under the pretext of building without a permit, which is seen as part of the occupation's policy to tighten restrictions on Palestinians.
It clarified that the occupation forces fired a barrage of sound bombs and tear gas indiscriminately towards citizens in the region, causing cases of suffocation among residents, especially in areas close to the targeted homes.
It is worth noting that the occupation forces had delivered several notifications to homeowners a few days ago in the same area regarding the demolition of establishments, as part of a policy aimed at pressuring the Palestinian residents and restricting their right to build.
The town of Anata, like many towns in occupied Jerusalem, is subjected to a systematic policy of demolition and restriction, through the distribution of repeated notifications under the pretext of building without a permit.
