Tamra Continues Its Movement Against Crime After the Murder of Wafa Awad and Announces Escalation Steps
SadaNews - The Municipality of Tamra, the popular committee, and the local committee of parents announced last night, Saturday, the continuation of the protest movement in the city "until rights are secured", following the shooting crime that claimed the life of Wafa Tawfiq Awad.
A joint statement issued on February 14, 2026, stated that it was decided to invite residents to participate en masse in the funeral, the date of which has not yet been announced, expressing solidarity with the family, in addition to continuing organized movements against the scourge of violence and crime through carefully studied escalation steps.
It was also decided to launch a wide call for signing the "Civil Peace Charter", to enhance social boycott against anyone who continues to engage in crime, and to integrate awareness content about rejecting violence within the "Ramadan Tent" programs.
The steps also included raising black flags on cars in mourning and protest, and dedicating two study periods today, Sunday, to organize educational activities in schools to confront crime.
The statement emphasized that Tamra "will remain united in facing pain and violence, and will insist on its right to security, safety, and a dignified life."
