The Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency Launches Its Annual Social Aid Campaign on the Eve of Ramadan
SadaNews - The Al-Quds Bayt Mal Agency, affiliated with the Jerusalem Committee headed by Moroccan King Mohammed VI, launched its annual social aid campaign today, Saturday in Jerusalem, on the eve of the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH, with the presence of the director in charge of managing the agency, Mohammed Salem Al-Sharkawi.
This year's campaign program includes the distribution of 5,000 food parcels aimed at needy Palestinian families in the city and in the villages of the Jerusalem governorate, and 20,000 daily iftar meals at several charitable foundations and social centers.
Additionally, the program includes Eid al-Fitr clothing for 500 orphans sponsored by the agency, alongside organizing medical campaigns, activities for religious chanting and Quran recitation, and nights of remembrance and benevolence, as well as training programs for Palestinian associations in areas of developing commercial marketing skills and human development projects.
Mr. Al-Sharkawi oversaw the launch of the "Traditional Moroccan Crafts Training Week" at the "Alia" institution building in Beit Hanina, as part of the agency's program "Community Initiatives for Human Development in Jerusalem".
The training week will be led by a select group of skilled Moroccan artisans specializing in textile arts, wood carving, and silver smithing, aiming to transfer rich Moroccan experiences to Jerusalem artisans and youth interested in traditional professions. It includes hands-on training sessions and theoretical discussions focusing on developing artisanal products and raising quality standards.
This week is significant in enabling Jerusalem artisans to acquire skills of high added value, contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of their products and creating sustainable income sources for Jerusalem families, in addition to opening networking opportunities with Moroccan craftsmen to benefit from leading experiences in valuing cultural heritage.
On another note, Mr. Al-Sharkawi, accompanied by the director of the commercial chamber branch in Al-Eizariya, Ali Shaqirat, the general director of the Palestinian Freight Council, Ehab Al-Barghouti, and board member, Wael Hijazi, attended the conclusion of the first training course on "Professional Competence in Import and Export", within the agreement signed in Jerusalem between the agency and the commercial chamber on December 24, 2025.
On this occasion, Mr. Al-Sharkawi awarded participation certificates to the trainees who benefited from training in the mechanisms for empowering economic actors, which focused on concepts of value chain and production, logistics management, as well as practical procedures for accessing global markets.
The participants praised the importance of this scientific content in enhancing their skills and competitive capabilities in import and export and modernizing their operations based on advanced scientific and professional foundations.
This event is part of the agency's strategy to support the trade sector in Jerusalem, based on three pillars: electronic marketing through the "Dalala" platform, technical support and training, and innovation support through the "BMAQ Innovation Hub", aimed at connecting the Jerusalem economy with modern value chains and achieving the sustainability of emerging projects.
The agency works on implementing the directives of Moroccan King Mohammed VI, head of the Jerusalem Committee, to serve the holy city and support the capabilities of Jerusalemites, enhancing their steadfastness by mobilizing all available resources and potential and investing them in advancing human development programs in Jerusalem.
