The Presidency Welcomes the Lebanese Ministry of Health's Issuance of Work Permits for Palestinian Nurses
SadaNews - The Presidency welcomed the decision of the Lebanese Ministry of Health to issue work permits for concerned Palestinian nurses.
In a statement today, Thursday, the Presidency expressed its great appreciation for the significant efforts made by the Ministry of Health, the Nurses Syndicate, and various civil society institutions that led to this decision, which will help alleviate the suffering of our people.
The Presidency also expressed its profound appreciation for the continuous efforts made by the Lebanese-Palestinian dialogue committee to address the legal issues related to the rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, particularly the right to work within the applicable legal frameworks, in coordination with the relevant authorities. It emphasized that this position aligns with the steadfast Lebanese positions supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause.
The Presidency pointed out that this decision comes as a translation of President Mahmoud Abbas's important visit to Lebanon last May, during which a joint Palestinian-Lebanese presidential statement was issued, affirming the commitment to improving the living conditions of refugees while respecting Lebanese sovereignty and adhering to Lebanese laws. At that time, both the Lebanese and Palestinian sides confirmed their commitment to "providing the necessary conditions to ensure that Palestinian refugees in Lebanon can live a dignified life without compromising their right to return or affecting their national identity."
