Ramallah Municipality Launches "Ramallah Expo – Exhibition Ground" Project in Partnership with The Mob Company

SadaNews - Today, the Ramallah Municipality launched the "Ramallah Expo – Exhibition Ground" project in partnership with The Mob Company, in a qualitative step aimed at enhancing the economic, cultural, and developmental infrastructure of the city, with the presence of the honorable Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. Laila Ghannam, the Minister of Local Government, Dr. Sami Hijjawi, the Minister of National Economy, Eng. Mohammed Al-Amor, the Minister of Industry, Aref Asfour, along with the Mayor of Ramallah, Issa Qasis, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Municipal Development Fund, the Palestinian Federation of Local Authorities, industrial and food unions, the Insurance Companies Union, project partners from the private sector, and representatives of city institutions.

In his speech, the Mayor of Ramallah, Issa Qasis, confirmed that the project represents a strategic addition to the city and aligns with the vision of Ramallah 2050 aimed at building an optimistic and sustainable city, pointing out that the partnership with the private sector is a fundamental pillar in implementing qualitative projects. He clarified that the project will be built on lands owned by the municipality in the Al-Murajama neighborhood (Masyoun) covering an area of five dunams, and will be implemented under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model, wherein The Mob Company will construct and operate the project for ten years before fully handing it back to the Ramallah Municipality.

Moreover, the Director of The Mob Company, Aqba Salameh, confirmed that the partnership with the Ramallah Municipality on the Ramallah Expo project represents an advanced model of integration between the public and private sectors, expressing his pride in the trust the municipality has placed in the company and affirming the company's commitment to implementing the project according to the highest technical and professional standards, ensuring its sustainability and service to the city.

For her part, Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Dr. Laila Ghannam, confirmed that the Ramallah Expo project represents an important national and economic station reflecting the integration between official institutions and the private sector, contributing to strengthening the resilience of the city of Ramallah and supporting its local economy, praising the developmental vision of the Ramallah Municipality and the joint efforts that have led to the launch of this qualitative project.

Minister of Local Government, Dr. Sami Hijjawi, stated that the project practically embodies what the ministry advocates for: a genuine partnership between local authorities and the private sector based on a win-win equation, and represents a pioneering model for financing local development and improving municipal services, praising the wise management of the Ramallah Municipality that has qualified it for an A++ rating, the highest rating for local authorities.

In turn, the Minister of National Economy, Eng. Mohammed Al-Amor, emphasized the importance of the project in building a strong and sustainable national economy, commending the pioneering role of the Ramallah Municipality and its continuous efforts to serve the city, affirming that the Ramallah Expo project is not merely a piece of land, but a comprehensive platform for development that embraces vital sectors including agriculture, industry, commerce, tourism, and cultural activities, and represents a qualitative addition to the economic infrastructure of the city and the governorate, enhancing the resilience of the local economy and providing new job opportunities.

The Minister of Industry, Aref Asfour, also affirmed that the project represents a strategic platform for supporting Palestinian industry and enhancing the presence of national products, opening new horizons for investment and trade exchange, and serving as a real lever for supporting the national economy and creating job opportunities.

It is worth mentioning that the project includes a tent with a diameter of 40 meters that accommodates approximately 1,300 seated and 4,000 standing individuals, in addition to parking lots and integrated service facilities including a kitchen, bathrooms, and food kiosks, utilizing the latest sound and lighting technologies. The project is expected to contribute to creating direct and indirect job opportunities and support the local economy.
