Election Committee: The Second Phase of the Electoral Process Begins

SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Central Election Commission, Farid Ta'mallah, announced today, Thursday, the commencement of the second phase of the electoral process, which is the phase of publishing and objections to the preliminary voters' register, starting from the morning of Saturday, February 7, 2026, and lasting for three days.

He added, "The preliminary voters' register does not include registered individuals under 18 years old, and the names of the deceased have been removed from it."

According to the statement, the publication of the preliminary register will occur in 420 local authorities in the West Bank at the offices of the local authorities.

He continued, "For the first time, the register will be published electronically via the official website of the Central Election Commission. During this phase, no new voters will be registered, and the publication and objection phase gives citizens the opportunity to review their electoral data, correct errors, and include individuals whose names have been omitted, or object to the inclusion of incorrect names."

He clarified that correction requests and objections should be submitted to the Election Commission, with the possibility of appealing the committee's decisions before the Electoral Disputes Court.

He concluded, "After the end of this phase, the register will be closed and finalized, in preparation for the third phase of the electoral process, which is the nomination stage according to legal schedules and deadlines. The publication and objection phase will be conducted under the supervision of accredited monitoring bodies, journalists, and media institutions to ensure transparency and accuracy."
