Serious Indictment Against 10 Young Men from Galilee on Charges of Extortion, Gunfire, and Weapon Transfer
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation public prosecution has submitted a serious indictment to the central court in Nazareth against ten young men aged between 22 and 39 from the towns of Kasra, Abu Snan, and Yarka, accusing them of extortion, gunfire, and possession and transfer of weapons.
According to the indictment, the case arose following an investigation conducted by the "Crime Fighting Unit" in the Tiberias region, which uncovered an organized extortion network targeting a contractor from northern Golan. According to the investigation, the defendants intervened to collect a commercial debt of 1.8 million shekels, claiming to belong to a "criminal gang," before raising the debt amount to 3.2 million shekels and imposing weekly payments of 400,000 shekels.
The prosecution stated that the victim, under threat, handed over his vehicle and an amount of 200,000 shekels to the defendants. Later, when asked to pay an additional amount of half a million shekels and he refused, the defendants opened heavy gunfire towards his house on December 25, 2025.
It was noted that the occupation police were able at the time to arrest three of the involved after a short chase, while subsequent investigations led to the detention of the remaining members of the network, bringing the total number of defendants to ten young men, all referred for trial on charges described as serious.
