Death of 8 Workers and More Than 50 Injuries Due to Workplace Accidents Since the Beginning of the Year
SadaNews - Available data and statistics indicate the death of eight workers and the injury of more than 50 others with varying degrees of injuries due to various workplace accidents that have occurred in the country since the beginning of this year until today, amid ongoing negligence and the lack of official supervision over occupational safety conditions.
Just last week, one worker was killed and seven others were injured in workplace accidents that occurred at different sites and workshops, raising the toll of workplace accident victims since the beginning of the year to eight fatalities and more than 50 injuries, reflecting the dangerous conditions under which workers operate, especially in the construction and industrial sectors.
Annual data shows that the year 2025 witnessed the death of 81 workers and the injury of 734 others with varying degrees of injuries, including 628 which were classified as serious or moderate. These injuries have had severe impacts on the lives of the victims and their families, both on health and social-economic levels.
According to statistics, the majority of workplace accidents focused on falls from heights, in addition to vehicle-related incidents within workplaces, amid the government's failure to enforce effective supervision and tighten the implementation of safety standards, and the continued leniency towards companies and contractors that prioritize maximizing profits over the lives and health of workers.
Relevant authorities indicate that workers, who represent the "weakest link" in the Israeli labor market, are the most affected group from these accidents, in light of the absence of a safe working environment that respects occupational safety conditions, and the neglect of responsible parties in protecting their rights and ensuring their safety.
