The Central Elections Commission Opens 423 Voter Registration Centers in the West Bank
SadaNews - The Central Elections Commission announced today, Tuesday, the opening of field voter registration centers at all local authority headquarters and the offices of the elections committee in the West Bank.
The number of centers is 423, distributed across 420 local authorities throughout the West Bank, operating daily from 9 AM to 2 PM, including Fridays and Saturdays, to facilitate the registration process and update voter data.
The commission clarified in its statement this morning that the registration centers in the committee's offices aim to facilitate the procedures for citizens' registration, especially for special cases such as residents of Gaza living in the West Bank, holders of Jerusalem IDs, and registration by proxy, including registering prisoners through their relatives and changing polling places and local authorities for voters.
The commission added that the registration offices in local authorities work on registering new voters, changing polling locations, and updating voter data in the electoral register.
The commission's statement pointed out that the electronic and field registration phase will continue from this morning until the evening of Saturday, January 24, 2026, followed by a phase for publicizing and challenging the electoral register in local authorities for three days from February 7 to 9, 2026. Then, the nomination phase for local elections will begin for seven days starting from February 23 to March 1, 2026.
The commission emphasized the importance of all citizens adhering to the specified registration deadlines and making use of the field registration centers to ensure that their data is recorded accurately, as registration is a prerequisite for nomination and voting.
