Civil Defense Grants Car Scrap Owners and Scrap Collection Shops a Specified Period to Rectify Their Legal Status
SadaNews - The General Directorate of Civil Defense has called upon all car scrap owners and scrap collection shops to take immediate action to rectify their legal status and to organize this trade to ensure the application of all public safety and prevention measures.
The directorate emphasized in a statement that, in light of monitoring cases of negligence and non-compliance with safety requirements, as well as some workers intentionally setting fires to dispose of waste, which threatens the safety of neighboring residents and their properties, and causes severe damage to the environment and surrounding agricultural lands, it has been decided to enforce the law immediately.
The announced measures include the immediate application of all public safety and preventive requirements, charging offending parties the financial costs associated with firefighting operations in accordance with the system and law, and making decisions for the immediate closure of violating establishments to reduce risks.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense has granted scrap shop owners and junk shops a final deadline to rectify their conditions and to report to the Civil Defense departments in their respective governorates, before the commencement of inspections by public safety teams, which will notify violators or administratively close their facilities in accordance with the legal authorities granted to the directorate, in order to protect the lives and properties of citizens.
