The Central Committee of Fatah Movement Holds a Meeting in Ramallah

SadaNews - The Central Committee of the Fatah Movement convened last night, Sunday, at the headquarters of mobilization and organization of the movement.

The Central Committee discussed the work of the preparatory committee for the eighth general conference of the movement in light of the decision of the Revolutionary Council to set the date of the conference on May 14, and scheduled a meeting for the preparatory committee next Thursday to follow up on the committee's work.

The Central Committee reviewed the resolutions of the Revolutionary Council from its recent session concerning organizational issues and the ongoing preparations for the eighth general conference of the movement. It also discussed the ongoing preparations for local council elections and made appropriate decisions to facilitate the conduct of the elections from all aspects, especially concerning the reservations expressed by some Palestinian factions, and approved a number of steps aimed at overcoming obstacles that have arisen or may arise regarding holding the elections on time.

Regarding the formation of the national committee to manage the Gaza Strip, which began its work immediately upon its formation in Cairo until arrangements are made and obstacles that may affect its operations in Gaza are removed, it affirmed that the West Bank, including East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state, and the Gaza Strip will remain a single unit in embodying the independent Palestinian state on the occupied Palestinian territories since June 4, 1967, within a single political system, one law, and one weapon.

The Central Committee emphasized the need for the occupying Israel to fully withdraw from all Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Regarding the political situation, the Central Committee stressed the necessity of initiating a comprehensive national dialogue centered around the unity of all around the Palestine Liberation Organization as the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people. The Palestinian National Authority must continue to provide its health, educational, administrative, and other services in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Central Committee also discussed the continuous incursions by the occupation army and settler mobs into towns, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank and the consecutive crimes committed against our people, and the reconstruction of a number of settlements that were previously removed under prior agreements, as is the case in the town of Sanour south of Jenin, and the expansion of existing settlements through the construction of thousands of new settlement units.

The Central Committee confirmed that it will remain in a state of permanent session to monitor the situation from all its aspects to preserve the constants and national objectives that our Palestinian revolution was launched to achieve, ultimately reaching the establishment of the independent Palestinian state, affirming our Arab depth according to the decisions of international legitimacy.
