One Killed in a Shooting Incident in Occupied Negev
SadaNews - A Palestinian in his forties was killed as a result of gunfire directed at him in a crime committed near the village of al-Lakiya in the Negev, southern occupied Palestine, today, Friday.
A medical team that arrived at the crime scene reported that it received a notice "at 1:28 PM in the Negev area, indicating that a man was injured on Highway 31, near the al-Lakiya intersection."
The medical team added that its members "are providing medical aid and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the scene for a 40-year-old man," noting that the victim of the shooting incident was "in critical condition due to penetrating injuries" that pierced his body, before he was pronounced dead shortly before arriving at "Soroka" Hospital in Beersheba, after the attempts to keep him alive failed.
The Israeli police stated in a statement that "a report was received a short while ago regarding a man suffering serious injuries as a result of gunfire at the entrance to al-Lakiya, and he died on his way to the hospital."
It added that "it is suspected that the shooting was in retaliation for revenge between families."
It mentioned that "large forces from the southern region are present at the scene as part of an ongoing investigation and in pursuit of the suspects."
