The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment in Germany Recommends Consuming Cinnamon in Moderation
SadaNews - The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment in Germany has recommended consuming cinnamon in moderation, as high doses of the substance "coumarin" found in cinnamon can damage the liver.
The institute clarified that the permissible daily dose of coumarin is 0.1 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, noting that this amount can be consumed daily for a lifetime without expecting any health risks.
The institute pointed out that Ceylon cinnamon is better than Cassia cinnamon, as the coumarin content in the former is much lower.
