The Popular Committee in Tayibe Welcomes the Cancellation of the 444 Bypass Plan: A Achievement for the Struggle of the City’s Residents
SadaNews - The popular committee for the defense of land and housing in Tayibe expressed its deep appreciation for the responsible decision taken by the "Netivei Israel" company to withdraw its approval for the 444 bypass plan, which posed a direct threat to Tayibe's lands and the rights of its residents for decades.
The committee clarified that "all we hope for now is for this decision to have a legal framework and a final binding decision from the national planning and building committee."
It added that the decision by "Netivei Israel" was the result of a long and arduous struggle fought by the landowners with unwavering determination, supported by the committee established by them, along with members of the popular committee, with wisdom and resilience.
The popular committee for the defense of land and housing closely monitored the situation and stated that it "performed its national and struggle role in the fullest sense of the word, carrying the cause from its first day, leading the popular and professional path, solidifying the collective rejection of the plan, and standing as a strong barrier against attempts to impose a project that touches upon the land, identity, and future of Tayibe."
It affirmed that it "worked for years both on the ground and legally and socially, to unite the ranks and strengthen the professional position and convey the voices of the residents to all relevant authorities, which had the greatest impact in achieving this honorable outcome."
