Civil Organizations: The Security Council's Vote on the American Proposal Is a Reinforcement of Guardianship Under an International Veil
SadaNews - The Palestinian Network of Civil Organizations expressed in a statement its rejection of the vote that took place in the Security Council early today "Tuesday" on what is called the American project according to the plan presented by Donald Trump, the American president, which includes sending "international" forces to the Gaza Strip. This carries serious risks that affect not only the geographic and political unity of Palestinian territories but also serves as a gateway to bypass international legitimacy decisions that constitute the foundation for protecting national rights.
The network emphasized that the American decision is a formula for evasion and a denial of international law, replacing it with new frameworks that have not existed before, without any guarantees for a political path that leads to the realization of the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people. It further shackles the Gaza Strip with additional measures that essentially serve the position of the occupation government and its approach to isolate the sector, and liquidate the national issue of the Palestinian people by implementing the plan for the forced displacement in Gaza, annexation, and the resolution of the situation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
The network pointed to the imposition of new conditions for the entry of humanitarian and food aid as direct evidence of the reality of the American position, which would exacerbate the tragic situation in the sector due to the continued siege and the occupation's aggression, which claims the lives of unarmed civilians and prevents the flow and entry of aid. This amounts to a war crime committed by the occupying power with insistence according to international law.
It reiterated its rejection of the vote that was conducted after rejecting the amendments proposed by many countries, including Russia, China, Algeria, and several other countries, and the American entrenchment behind the same formula that imposes guardianship on the Palestinian people renews its call to initiate a comprehensive national dialogue to achieve consensus on urgent and critical issues, and to work to avoid further sliding towards fragmenting national efforts based on adherence to the legitimate national rights represented by the right of return, self-determination, and national independence, while working internationally to complete the process of prosecuting the occupation government for its crimes, building international alliances, and activating existing coalitions to confront these trends in a manner that achieves transitional justice and ensures the rights of the Palestinian people as guaranteed by international legitimacy decisions and international law, away from the positions of the American administration that once again prove the depth of partnership with the occupation government and its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.
